When TY came to eat yesterday afternoon, he and papaw put the boat in the water... we had not started the engine since we had $1800 worth of work done on it a year ago... but it started and the engine SEEMS to be like new. (This pic was made on candlelight setting on my camera, but the subject has to be still or it does this - better than nothing)...Still... a month or so ago Charles bought a new trolling motor.... the kind that you have on the front of the boat that you really use in fishing - to move the boat from spot to spot without having to crank the engine... but it is perfect if you get out on the lake and get stuck, also... you can crank that thing up and putter your way back to shore.
CT is stopping by one of the best BBQ places ever to pick up a picnic dinner for us - and if it isn't raining, we're heading out. I am more excited than I SHOULD be for my age... lol....but I am totally excited.
Have been out on that boat most of today scrubbing, cleaning, and putting the treatment on the seats.... looks nearly like a new boat..... one problem though... the dummies that made our canopy top several years ago used regular thread to sew it... so now the thread is rotten and it is pulling apart. CT went over to their place of business - was going to ask them to sew it back - and they are OUT of business.... We are going to have to take it somewhere and get the stitching redone... The cloth is in great shape; they just didn't use the right kind of thread... duh duh duh.
I've had my music going (on my mp3 player) and have just danced around out there cleaning - and waving to our neighbors Nancy and Grant who have the huge half a million dollar boat down here. She is a pediatrician; he is a builder. Don't know how HIS business is doing but hers is booming.
Gotta get some tea made for our picnic. CT called... is on his way to the boat.
