Wow... the skys were black... I asked Charles at one point if he thought a twister could get between these mountains... nope...
We did not go thru the gorge going back - that one lane set-up going west just doesn't get it for us. Miles of back up is what we saw going over - so we came back through Greeneville, TN. And we just talked ourselves IN to it being six of one and half dozen of another as far as time goes on the road..... it is definitely quicker going thru the gorge.
SOOOOOO glad to be back at the boat. It always looks "new" when we first walk back in because it is scrubbed and polished before we leave. We made turkey sandwiches and watched Miss USA and are maxing and relaxing. Looking forward to being rocked to sleep tonight. So tired we can't see straight so sleep should come easy.
The closer we got to the lake the blacker the sky got... it absolutely poured... but was over by the time we got down the mountain to the marina. Thankfully - we brought our 2 buggies in, yelled at our neighbors, Vern and Pat, spoke to some people fishing, and found the flowers that we had watered and left 10 days ago, perfect! I love dark red geraniums in summer... these are popping out all over!
Great to be back on the water!!!!
